Semen Padang FC Must Pay Retribution for the Agus Salim Stadium

The West Sumatra Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) confirmed that Semen Padang FC must pay the retribution fee for the Haji Agus Salim Stadium in Padang City. Even though the club has improved the facilities of the Urang Awak stadium. 

Head of West Sumatra Dispora Dedi Diantolani said the levy was regulated in a regional regulation. 

As a tenant, Semen Padang has to pay a levy because of the legal consequences, especially since this club is a professional football team and not under the guidance of the West Sumatra Government. 

"They are managed by the company PT KSSP and must pay according to applicable regulations. Regarding the cost of repairs they do, of course it cannot be changed in the form of rental fees," said Dedi in Padang, Tuesday (27/7/2022). 

Semen Padang FC proposed to the West Sumatra Dispora regarding the funds they used to repair the Haji Agus Salim Stadium facilities. 

"So it cannot be equated with stadium rental fees. There are other processes that must be carried out later," said Dedi. 

As the manager of regional property, Dispora is charged with a regional revenue target to drive the wheels of development in the region. 

"We clearly have a regional revenue target and the rules also require a levy for using the stadium," continued Dedi. 

Semen Padang visited the Governor of West Sumatra to ask the Haji Agus Salim Stadium to be used as his home ground for the 2022-2023 Liga 2 season. 

"We did not ask Semen Padang FC to use this stadium, but those who came asked to use the stadium and make repairs according to competition standards," he said while stating that Semen Padang could not rent it out to other parties. 

The Haji Agus Salim Stadium levy is regulated in Pergub Number 8 of 2021. For the Liga 1 football field, the tariff is Rp. 15 million per activity in a day, while for Liga 2, the tariff is Rp. 10 million per activity in a day. 

For League 3, it is divided into three categories, for National League 3, Rp. 7.5 million per day and activities, Regional League 3, Rp. 5 million and general matches, Rp. 3 million per activity in a day. 

Previously, the CEO of Semen Padang FC, Win Bernadino, admitted that he had allocated a budget of more than IDR 1 billion to repair the stadium so that it would be suitable for holding Liga 2 matches. 

Among the improvements were the stadium grass, stadium lights, changing rooms and benches. 

Semen Padang will repair the field starting July 4, 2022 and it will be used for the first trial on Wednesday afternoon tomorrow. 

Win hopes that the provincial government will eliminate the cost of renting the stadium as compensation for repairs. 

"We hope that the West Sumatra Provincial Government can communicate well with us regarding this and what we must pursue at this time is improvement in accordance with the requirements of the League 2 stadium," said Win.
